Vietnamese class 1: Greeting

Many young Vietnamese know English, so the interns can communicate with them in English. However, there are few old Vietnamese can speak English; therefore, in order to help intern communicate with Vietnamese people basically, Local Supporting Team decided to organize the Vietnamese class for all the interns working for "Earth & Me" project in Hanoi Summer 2011.

The Vietnamese class will focus on teaching interns some basic words and sentences so as to let interns talk with Vietnamese people. Fortunately, in the first lesson, all the interns (Joe, Maggie, Stella, Eden) could join the class. The teachers were Thao and Thuy, and they prepare documents for the first lesson very carefully.

In this lesson, interns learned basic sentences of how to greet in Vietnamese, and how to introduce themselves in Vietnamese. For example:

- Hello: Xin chào
- My name is .... : Tên tôi là ...
- I'm ... years old: Tôi .... tuổi
- I'm from ... : Tôi đến từ

The lesson was really interesting and interns seemed to be enjoyable. Thuy and Thao also gave some situation for interns to guess what Vietnamese sentences interns needed to say in that situation. Interns also had time to practice during the lesson.
